AgScore is a 0 to 100 performance score for farm fields in India, built from years of satellite observation, compared with neighbouring fields, and annotated by the farmer. Lenders, insurers and government get an independent record; farmers get a report that opens doors to credit and cover.
Better than 71% of 1,180 neighbouring fields over 12 seasons
A used-car buyer checks the vehicle history. A lender or insurer should be able to check a field's history the same way. AgScore combines a small set of measurable invariants, the things a well-managed field keeps steady season after season, into one explainable number.
Peak crop vigour each season, ranked against fields in the same village and crop, which largely controls for shared weather.
How steady performance is across Kharif and Rabi seasons. Reliable fields score higher than erratic ones.
Which crops were grown, how often the field is cropped, and whether rotation supports soil health.
Moisture and irrigation signals through dry spells, from radar that sees through monsoon cloud, with optical imagery when skies are clear.
Recorded floods, waterlogging, drought stress and fire, with dates, duration and recovery time.
Farmers claim their field and explain dips such as late sowing or a family emergency, so one bad season is not held against them.
Soil organic matter and degradation indicators, calibrated with field samples.
Practice change and residue burning history for carbon and sustainability programmes.
Institutions can add their own criteria. The engine is configurable per sector and per client.
Farmers record what they did on each plot: sowing, fertiliser, water, residue, harvest. AgScore shows it on one timeline beside what the satellite saw, season by season.
Sowing, fertiliser and manure, irrigation, sprays, cover crops, residue (burned or not), harvest and sale, with amounts and optional costs.
Where the satellite can see it (sowing, harvest, burning, and water use from evapotranspiration), each entry is marked consistent or not.
Farmers or their FPO field staff enter records on a phone. WhatsApp text, voice and photo in Marathi and Hindi is coming next.
Shared only with their FPO, bank or insurer by consent. Reports never name the farmer, and data is stored in India.
A farm record checked against the satellite helps farmers get better credit, prove no-burn and cover-crop practices, and, as partners join, earn rewards.

Most smallholder loans are priced on land records and a field visit. AgScore adds an independent performance history of the collateral and the livelihood behind it, in seconds, for every application.
71st percentile in village over 12 seasons
| Component | Score |
|---|---|
| Productivity vs neighbours | 82 |
| Consistency | 74 |
| Rotation and intensity | 80 |
| Water stability | 71 |
| Hazard exposure (higher is safer) | 77 |
Built in: explicit farmer consent (DPDP Act); one input with human review, never the only basis for a decision; delivered in the bank's app, SMS or WhatsApp.
Crop insurance runs on area yield estimates and slow crop-cutting surveys. AgScore compares each claim with what the satellite saw on that field and on its neighbours, and prices new policies on the field's own history.
| Claim | Crop | Reported | Observed | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CL-26-08831 | Soybean | 60% | 18% | Review |
| CL-26-08794 | Cotton | 45% | 41% | Consistent |
| CL-26-08802 | Soybean | 35% | 38% | Consistent |

Agriculture departments need timely sowing progress, crop stress and scheme monitoring across lakhs of fields. AgScore rolls field records up to village, tehsil and district dashboards.
Farmers claim their field on a phone, see how it compares with the village, and add the story behind a bad season. A good score becomes evidence of a well-managed field when applying for a loan or insurance.
Processors, input companies and traders need to know where supply will come from and which partners deliver reliably. AgScore gives expected output by cluster during the season and a reliability record for each FPO or supplier.
| Cluster | Fields | AgScore | Trend |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cluster A | 1,120 | 72 | Improving |
| Cluster B | 860 | 68 | Stable |
| Cluster E | 640 | 54 | Declining |
Search by survey number or location, draw the boundary, or let the farmer claim it on a phone.
Optical and radar imagery (Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2, with high-resolution tasking where needed) back to 2017.
Each season is compared with the field's own normal and with its neighbours. Deviations become score components.
